Successful completion satisfies the SCCA Driver’s School requirement for a Novice Permit License (plus regional weekend credit when applicable), allowing you to compete in SCCA Regional Races. After three regional race weekends (or credit) on a Novice Permit, you can apply for your Full Competition Racing License to enter SCCA Majors and Super Tour events.
How to Apply for an SCCA License (required to enter a SCCA event):
STEP 1 – Join the SCCA, simply click here.
Next, you’ll need to go visit your doctor for a sports physical. You can download that form, as well as the Novice Permit form. If you are 14-18 years old and want to drive competitively or work in a hot area, you (and your parent) will need to complete a digital Minor Waiver Instructions
Submit the Novice Permit Application with all of the required documents and Novice Permit fee to the SCCA Member Services Department at 6620 SE Dwight St. Topeka, KS 66619 or membership@scca.com.
Complete two online driver’s school modules (which take about 40 minutes). These will help you understand the unique procedures of SCCA racing.
Online Driver’s School – Module 1
Online Driver’s School – Module 2
Enter a SCCA Regional event and go racing! Bring your Novice Logbook with you to the event for the Chief Steward to sign.
